At Torchlight Foundation, our mission is to provide multifaceted support to victim survivors of domestic and family violence, assault, and child sexual abuse. We understand that domestic abuse is a complex and contentious issue often surrounded by myths and misconceptions. However, we exist not only to end it but also to promote healthy families and relationships built on the foundations of kindness and respect.
Our vision is clear: to promote respectful and caring behavior among adults and children, fostering safe, stable, and nurturing relationships.
We aim to end all forms of abuse, including domestic violence, child sexual abuse, discrimination, and bullying.
We strive to inspire and educate families and communities to demand societal change in attitudes, culture, laws, and government policies.
Torchlight Foundation was inspired by survivors and is dedicated to creating a world where abuse is recognized as preventable, survivors are supported, and communities are empowered to take action.
Our approach can be best summarised by our 'CAFE Project':
Create
Advocate
Facilitate
Educate
By working towards prevention and restoration, Torchlight Foundation are shining a light for a brighter future.
We believe in the arts as a powerful avenue for expression, awareness and advocacy. Through a range of creative outlets, we seek to encourage empathy and prevention among the public and facilitate the healing of survivors and their families.
Torchlight pursues justice for survivors by offering practical advocacy. Accompany individuals in court, supporting victims making police statements, and taking notes through these proceedings are among the ways we stand with survivors.
Torchlight acts as a facilitator, seeking to promote the resolution of any issue resulting from domestic violence – from financial hardship to addiction and mental health challenges. We aim to walk with individuals through what can feel like an impossible journey.
Torchlight aims to promote prevention by educating individuals on the causes, consequences and complexities of domestic violence. We offer courses and workshops and work in both small groups, large gatherings and with individuals to provide information and resources.
